The Irrawaddy bank
The river forms the town's western and northern edge. Its broad channel and sandbanks appear as a sweeping pale band that anchors the whole composition.

Nyaung-U Map Poster & Print
Nyaung-U sits on the eastern bank of the Irrawaddy in the Mandalay Region, where the river runs broad and slow through a dry central plain. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets near the water. Around it, open ground is dotted with small shapes that turn out to be temples and stupas. A few roads lead south and west toward the archaeological zone.
The town is best known as the gateway to Bagan, the old royal capital whose thousands of Buddhist monuments are spread across the plain beside it. The gilded Shwezigon Pagoda stands at the edge of Nyaung-U itself, and the town's airport and river jetty are how most travellers arrive in the area.
A Nyaung-U map poster shows this pairing of river and plain. On one side is the Irrawaddy's long bank, and on the other a loose web of lanes and tracks linking the town to the monuments. In black and white, the curving shoreline and the scattered small footprints give the sheet a quiet, spacious balance.

Gateway to Bagan
Roads run from the town toward the Bagan plain, where many small temple footprints are scattered among fields and tracks. It is a pattern unlike an ordinary street grid.
Shwezigon Pagoda
The pagoda's walled compound sits at the town's edge, one of the most recognisable religious sites in the region and a clear landmark on the map.

De ce Nyaung-U
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
For anyone who has watched the sun rise over the Bagan plain, or crossed the river here, this map brings back a very specific landscape. It suits a study, a hallway or a travel wall where a single strong line of river can carry the design.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a travel date or a short note. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the dry plain especially well.
