Compact town core
The centre is a tight arrangement of streets and blocks, built close together in the manner of desert towns where shade and short distances matter.

Ouled Djellal Map Poster & Print
Ouled Djellal lies on the northern edge of the Algerian Sahara, southwest of Biskra. From above, the town is a dense cluster of streets and courtyards set against wide, pale desert. Around it, palm groves and irrigated plots form a darker band that follows the course of the Oued Djedi, a wadi that runs across this part of the country.
The name is familiar well beyond the town because of the Ouled Djellal sheep, a hardy white breed that is among the most common in Algeria and is closely tied to the pastoral life of the region. In recent years the town also became the seat of its own wilaya, formerly part of Biskra province.
An Ouled Djellal map poster works through contrast. The built area is compact and intricate, while the surrounding land is nearly blank, crossed only by roads and the loose outline of the wadi. The result is an image with a strong centre and plenty of calm space, well suited to a minimal print.

Oasis belt
Palm groves and cultivated plots wrap parts of the town, creating a band of finer pattern between the streets and the open desert beyond.
The wadi
The Oued Djedi passes nearby as a broad, braided channel that is often dry, drawing an irregular natural line across the otherwise empty landscape.
