Picassent lies south of Valencia, on the inland edge of the fertile plain that surrounds the city. From above, the town forms a compact core of streets, with newer blocks and residential areas spreading outward. To the east lies the flat, closely divided land of orchards and fields. To the west the ground begins to rise into low hills with scattered houses and dry scrub.
The countryside around Picassent has long been planted with citrus, and on the map the orchards appear as a fine grid of small plots divided by paths and irrigation channels. Main roads connect the town to Valencia and to neighbouring towns in the Horta Sud. Industrial estates and motorways on the outskirts show how closely it is now tied to the wider metropolitan area.
