The Hooghly bank
The river runs along the western side of the town as a wide, smooth band. It anchors the composition and gives the busy street pattern a calm edge.

Shāntipur Map Poster & Print
Shāntipur sits on the east bank of the Hooghly in Nadia district, and the river sets the western edge of the map. The town's streets are old and irregular, built up over centuries rather than laid out on a plan, and they close in near the centre. Ponds and tanks show up as small open shapes scattered between the blocks.
The town is known across Bengal for its handloom cotton, and Shantipuri saris have long been a regional name. It also has deep ties to Bengali Vaishnavism and is associated with Advaita Acharya, a companion of Chaitanya. Its Ras festival draws visitors every autumn, and the town's many old temples reflect that devotional history.
A Shāntipur map poster puts a broad sweep of river against a close, finely grained town. The streets are short and change direction often, so the print looks textured rather than geometric, much like woven cloth. It is a good subject for anyone who knows the place, and also for people who simply like maps of old river towns.

Water tanks
Ponds and small tanks are scattered among the neighbourhoods, a common feature of Bengal towns. They appear as small white islands inside the dense network of lanes.
Unplanned old core
The centre grew gradually, lane by lane. The result is a fine, irregular mesh of streets that fills the middle of the print with detail.

De ce Shāntipur
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
For families from Nadia, and for anyone who wears or collects Bengal handloom, Shāntipur means more than its size would suggest. A map of the town keeps that connection on the wall in a quiet, understated form.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a family name, a wedding date or a line in Bengali script. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
