Shiwan Map Poster & Print
Shiwan is part of Foshan's Chancheng District in Guangdong, in the heart of the Pearl River Delta. From above, it is almost entirely built up. There is a tight mesh of streets, workshops, apartment blocks and modern roads, crossed by the waterways that run through this low, river-laced part of southern China.
The district's identity comes from its kilns. Shiwan has been a centre of pottery for centuries, and Shiwan ware, especially glazed ceramic figurines, is known across China. The Nanfeng Ancient Kiln, a Ming dynasty dragon kiln built up a slope, is still fired today. On the map it is a small, quiet spot in the middle of dense city.
Shiwan runs seamlessly into the rest of Foshan and, beyond it, the wider Guangzhou metropolitan area. A Shiwan map poster isolates one district within that urban continuum. It reveals a street pattern shaped by rivers, ceramics workshops and decades of fast growth.

Delta waterways
Rivers and channels of the Pearl River Delta run close to the district. They give the dense city map a few strong, curving lines of water.
Dense urban mesh
Old lanes, workshop streets and new boulevards overlap in a very fine grid. The result is a print full of detail that rewards a close look.

De ce Shiwan
O hartă care înseamnă ceva
Shiwan appeals to ceramic collectors and potters, as well as families from Foshan. A map of the district where so much Chinese pottery was made is a thoughtful piece for a studio, a shop or a home filled with clay.
Customise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the Chinese name or a date. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the craft theme. The $9 HD files come in six sizes, and framed prints are also available.
