Hills and valleys
Tarkwa's streets climb and curve over uneven ground. The network looks organic, with dense clusters in the lower areas and thinner lines on the slopes.

Tarkwa Map Poster & Print
Tarkwa has been tied to gold for well over a century, and that makes its map unusual. The town itself is a compact cluster of streets in a hilly, green landscape. Around it, large mining concessions leave haul roads, pits and waste areas whose geometric shapes stand out sharply against the surrounding forest and farmland.
The town is also a centre of learning for the industry. The University of Mines and Technology is based here and trains engineers and geoscientists. A railway line has long linked the area to the coast at Sekondi-Takoradi, carrying ore and supplies, and its route adds a long, steady curve to the street network.
A Tarkwa map poster shows a working town honestly: the tight core of markets and homes, the roads winding over the hills, the rail line and the edges of the mines. In monochrome the result is graphic and slightly abstract, a map that rewards a longer look.

Railway to the coast
The rail line toward Sekondi-Takoradi runs through the area as a long, gentle stroke that anchors the composition and hints at the town's industrial past.
Mining landscape
Around the town, mining operations appear as broad, regular shapes. This signature sets Tarkwa's map apart from any other town in the region.
