Scattered districts
The town is made up of separate residential areas connected by roads. On the map they form distinct clusters rather than one continuous block.

Zhirnovsk Map Poster & Print
Zhirnovsk lies in the north of Volgograd Oblast, on the rolling land of the Volga Upland. The town is spread out in loose districts rather than a single dense centre. Straight residential streets alternate with larger industrial plots, and wide gaps of open ground separate them. The Medveditsa river flows through the region nearby, and the surrounding countryside is open steppe and farmland.
The town grew in the twentieth century with the development of oil fields in the area, and oil remains central to its identity. Many of the town's districts and roads were built to serve that industry, which gives Zhirnovsk the practical layout typical of Soviet-era industrial towns.
A Zhirnovsk map poster reflects a place shaped by function. The scattered districts, straight roads and industrial areas form a composition with strong lines and plenty of empty space. In a minimal style, that openness becomes one of the most striking features of the print.

Industrial plots
Large sites associated with the oil industry show up as broad solid shapes. They contrast with the finer pattern of residential streets.
Open steppe
Farmland and steppe surround the town on all sides. On the poster that open ground frames the settlement and gives it a strong outline.
