Eschborn lies directly west of Frankfurt am Main, on the gentle slopes leading up toward the Taunus. On the map it looks like two towns in one. There is the older residential centre with small, irregular streets, and there are large, geometric blocks of office parks laid out along the main roads and motorways.
Many major companies are based here, including Deutsche Börse, whose headquarters moved to Eschborn in 2010, and the German development agency GIZ. The town's location on the A66 and A5 motorway network and its S-Bahn stations give it direct access to Frankfurt and the airport.
