Juexi is a town in Sichuan Province, in south-western China. It sits in the hilly country of the Sichuan Basin, a region of low rounded hills, small valleys and intensively farmed land. Like many towns in the basin, it serves as a local centre for the surrounding villages, with markets, schools and services drawing people in from the countryside.
From above, the town shows a compact core of streets surrounded by a much wider landscape of fields and scattered settlements. Roads leave the centre and follow the shape of the terrain, curving around hills and along valleys. Small ponds and watercourses appear among the farmland, a typical feature of the agricultural patterns of the region.
