Nīmāj is a small town in Pali district, in the Marwar region of Rajasthan. From above, its older part is a dense tangle of narrow lanes and closely built houses, with streets bending around the historic fort and palace that once served as the seat of a local thakur family. Newer houses and roads extend from this core towards the highways and fields.
The land around the town is flat and dry, typical of central Rajasthan, with agricultural plots, scattered wells and small water bodies.
