Massamagrell lies in l'Horta Nord, a few kilometres north of Valencia, on the fertile plain between the city and the Mediterranean. From above, the town is a compact core of streets surrounded by the huerta, the traditional irrigated farmland of the region, divided into narrow, regular plots and threaded with channels and farm tracks.
The contrast between the dense town and the finely divided fields around it gives the map its character.
