Le faʻafanua
Miyoshi is a city in Aichi Prefecture, between Nagoya and Toyota, in one of Japan's main manufacturing regions. From above, it is a patchwork of residential neighbourhoods, industrial sites and farmland set on low, rolling hills. The streets are irregular in older areas and more planned in the newer housing districts, and large roads and expressways cross the city.
Like much of this part of Aichi, the landscape is dotted with ponds and reservoirs, many originally built for irrigation. On the map, they appear as small, irregular water shapes scattered among the streets and fields. Wooded hills and parks add further open space. Large factory parcels and logistics sites form wide, simple blocks that contrast with the finer residential grain.
A Miyoshi map poster shows a modern Japanese suburb with a varied texture of fine housing streets, large industrial blocks, ponds and green hills, tied together by broad roads. It has no single centrepiece, but its mix of patterns makes an interesting, balanced print that suits a clean, contemporary interior.

Fine residential streets sit alongside large industrial and logistics parcels, making a varied pattern of small and large blocks across the city.
Major roads and expressways run through Miyoshi and link it with Nagoya and Toyota. They form the longest, strongest lines of the composition.
