Paddy field grid
Rice fields cover much of the basin floor in small, regular parcels. On the poster they form a fine geometric mesh that sets this map apart.

Aizu-misato Machi Map Poster & Print
Aizu-misato is a town in western Fukushima Prefecture, in the southern part of the Aizu basin. From above, it is mostly agricultural land. Wide areas of rice paddies are divided into a precise grid of small fields, and villages and farmsteads are spread among them instead of forming a single dense centre. Forested mountains rise at the edges of the basin.
The town also includes Hongō, known for Aizu-Hongō ware, a pottery tradition that has continued here for centuries. On the map, the settled areas follow the roads and rail line across the plain, with small clusters of streets where the older villages sit. Rivers and irrigation channels run through the fields in long, gentle lines.
An Aizu-misato Machi map poster is less about dense streets and more about pattern. The paddy grid, the scattered villages and the lines of road and water together form a composition that looks almost like a textile. With the mountains left open at the edges, it gives a clear picture of rural life in a Japanese basin.

Hongō pottery district
Hongō, home of Aizu-Hongō ware, is one of the town's settled areas. It shows as a small cluster of streets at the edge of the plain.
Basin rim
Wooded mountains frame the farmland on the edges of the basin. They are left as open space, which lets the field pattern stand out clearly.
