Baijiawan Map Poster & Print
Baijiawan is a town in eastern Gansu, in the loess highlands of northwestern China. This landscape is shaped by thick deposits of wind-blown soil cut into ravines and terraces, and the map reflects it: the town's streets gather on flatter ground in the valley, while roads and paths trace the folds of the hills.
The surrounding countryside is agricultural, with terraced fields stepping up the slopes and small villages scattered along the valleys. The town serves as a local centre for these communities, linked to the wider region by roads that follow the easiest routes through the uneven terrain.
A Baijiawan map poster is a study of how a settlement adapts to its ground. The built-up centre is compact and the roads around it wind and branch, drawing lines that follow the hills and ravines. The effect is organic and quietly detailed, especially in lighter styles.

Loess hill roads
Roads curve along ravines and ridges in the surrounding hills, tracing the folded terrain in long, winding lines typical of the loess plateau.
Terraced countryside
Farmland on the slopes and scattered villages appear as a sparse network of lanes, giving the edges of the print a soft, rural texture.
