Cheria sits on the high plains of Tébessa province in eastern Algeria, well above sea level, where the land opens into wide, gently rolling farmland. From above, the town reads as a dense core of low blocks with a few longer roads carrying traffic out toward neighbouring settlements. The edges fade quickly into field boundaries, so the built area stands out clearly against the emptier ground around it.
The streets follow a mostly practical pattern, with straighter avenues crossing tighter residential lanes. Newer districts have grown along the main approach roads, which gives the outline a slightly stretched, star-like shape rather than a neat circle.
