Eitorf lies in the Rhein-Sieg district, in the valley of the Sieg, east of Bonn. The river loops through the area in wide meanders. The town sits on the valley floor, with a compact centre, residential streets spreading along the flatter ground, and scattered villages on the surrounding heights.
The Sieg valley railway follows the river, and in Eitorf it runs close to the centre, forming a long line parallel to the water. Bridges connect the two banks. Beyond them, the slopes climb steeply into woodland, where only lanes and farm tracks cut across the contours. From above, the forest edge wraps closely around the town.
