Kade is the capital of the Kwaebibirem municipality in Ghana's Eastern Region, set in the forest zone of the Birim River basin. The land here is gently rolling and heavily cultivated, and the town functions as a service and market centre for the surrounding farms, where oil palm, cocoa and food crops are grown across the district.
From above, Kade has the organic structure common to towns in southern Ghana. A few main roads carry traffic in and out toward neighbouring towns, and the residential areas grow outward from them in irregular blocks.
