Torbalı Map Poster & Print
Torbalı lies in the Küçük Menderes basin south-east of İzmir. The land is broad and flat, and the town spreads across it in a mix of older streets near the centre and newer blocks and industrial zones along the main roads. A railway line runs through the area, now part of İzmir's suburban network, connecting the town with the city.
Close to Torbalı are the ruins of ancient Metropolis, a Greek and Roman city on a low hill, excavated over recent decades. The town itself has grown quickly with factories and new housing, while olive groves and farmland still surround it.
A Torbalı map poster captures this layering: the dense centre, the straight lines of highways and rail, and the more regular blocks of recent development. It is a map of a town in motion, set on a plain with old history just beyond its edges.

The ancient city of Metropolis lies just outside town on a low hill, a reminder that this plain was settled long before the present grid.
Küçük Menderes plain
The flat basin around the town gives the map wide margins of field patterns and roads, contrasting with the dense blocks at its centre.
