Vyškov lies where the wooded Drahany Highlands meet the flatter farmland of central Moravia, roughly halfway between Brno and Olomouc. The historic core is compact, arranged around a large town square, with the old street lines still readable inside the ring of later development. From above, the town has a clear centre with a clear edge.
