Quvasoy lies in the Fergana region of eastern Uzbekistan, south of the city of Fergana, where the valley floor begins to rise toward the mountains along the border with Kyrgyzstan. On a map the town has a clear planned layout of wide streets and residential blocks, with orchards and irrigated plots filling the spaces around it.
Streams coming down from the mountains feed the irrigation network that sustains the surrounding orchards and fields. The town grew substantially in the twentieth century, and its layout reflects Soviet-era planning, with straight streets, apartment districts and larger industrial sites near its edges, where the grid gives way to open land.
A Quvasoy map poster captures the transition from valley to foothills. The regular grid of the town contrasts with the looser pattern of garden plots and canals around it, and the rising ground to the south gives the composition a subtle sense of edge and orientation. It is a clear image of one small corner of a large valley.
Straight avenues and residential blocks give the town centre a regular, ordered structure, typical of towns that expanded during the Soviet period.
Around the built-up area, small orchards, fields and irrigation canals form a finely divided pattern that fills the space between neighbouring settlements.
To the south the land rises toward the mountains and the street network thins out, giving the map a natural boundary on one side.
