Te mapa
Akihabara sits in Chiyoda, just south of Ueno and north of the Kanda River. Its core is small and dense. Chuo-dori runs north to south as the main spine, and the rail tracks cut diagonally across the district on viaducts. The station is a meeting point of lines stacked on different levels, so on a map the railway looks like it is knitting the area together.
After the Second World War, the area around the station became a market for radio parts. That grew into the world's best-known electronics district, the Akihabara Electric Town. In recent decades, anime, manga and game shops have joined, along with themed cafés, and the district has become a centre of Japanese pop culture.
The Kanda River runs along the southern edge, crossed by several short bridges before it continues east. On Sundays, part of Chuo-dori is often closed to traffic and becomes a pedestrian street. An Akihabara map poster reduces a district of screens and signs to its bones: a grid, a river and a railway that holds it all together.

A junction where the Yamanote, Keihin-Tōhoku and Sōbu lines meet at different heights. On the map it shows as a crossing of long rail strokes.
The river forms the district's southern boundary. Short bridges link it to the older neighbourhoods on the other side and give the map a clean waterline.

Koteā ko Akihabara
For collectors, gamers and anyone who spent a long afternoon here hunting for parts or figures, Akihabara is a place of pilgrimage. A map is a quieter souvenir than a shopping bag, and it lasts longer.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates. A trip date or a favourite shop name fits well. Choose Noir for a night-time feel or Blueprint for a technical look that suits the district's history. Five styles are available.
