Te mapa
Alonnisos is a long, narrow island in the Northern Sporades, running from south-west to north-east. A single main road follows its backbone. Pine woods and scrub cover much of the land, and the coast breaks into small coves reached by short side tracks. On a map, the island is a slender shape with a few villages grouped at its southern end.
Patitiri, the harbour where ferries arrive, fills a small bay on the south-east coast, with the village of Votsi close by. Above them, the old Chora sits on a hilltop overlooking both coasts. After an earthquake in 1965, many residents moved down to the port. The old village's narrow lanes were later restored and now form a tight knot of streets on the ridge.
The waters around the island are the core of the National Marine Park of Alonissos and the Northern Sporades. The park was set up to protect the Mediterranean monk seal, among other species. An Alonnisos map poster shows the island within that protected sea, with a string of smaller uninhabited islands scattered to its north-east.

The ferry port sits in a compact bay on the south-east coast. Here the island's main road meets the water, and the largest village spreads up the slopes.
Smaller islands lie off the north-east coast inside the protected marine park. They add a scattered chain of shapes to the poster beyond the main outline.

Koteā ko Alonnisos
Alonnisos is a place people return to year after year for the walks, the quiet coves and the boat trips into the marine park. A map poster keeps that familiar outline close once the season is over.
Personalise the poster with a title, a subtitle such as the name of your cove, and a date. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then choose a $9 digital download in six sizes or a printed matte poster.
