Te mapa
Ash Shuhadā’ is a town in Monufia Governorate, in the southern part of the Nile Delta between the Rosetta and Damietta branches of the river. Seen from above it is a compact settlement surrounded on all sides by cultivated land, with the regular lines of fields and canals stretching out toward neighbouring villages.
The town itself is closely built, with narrow streets packed around a centre and a few longer roads leading out across the countryside. Its shape is typical of the delta, where towns stay tight so that as much fertile ground as possible can remain in farming, and where water channels quietly organise the landscape.
An Ash Shuhadā’ map poster works best with a little of that surrounding land included, so the dense core reads clearly against the fields and canals. For families with roots in Monufia, it offers a piece of the delta, one of the oldest farmed landscapes in the world, to keep on the wall wherever they now happen to live.
Monufia lies in the wedge of land between the Nile's Rosetta and Damietta branches, and the town sits within that intensively farmed interior.
Irrigation channels and field edges surround the town with fine, repeating lines, giving the edges of the poster a delicate, textile-like pattern.
Short, closely packed streets form a dark core on the map, sharply defined because the built-up area gives way quickly to farmland.
