Te mapa
Baja stands on the left bank of the Danube in southern Hungary, and its map is shaped almost entirely by water. A side branch of the river, the Sugovica, curves along the town's western edge. It separates the streets from Petőfi Island, a large green area of beaches, sports grounds and riverside paths.
The centre focuses on Szentháromság tér, a broad main square that is enclosed on three sides but opens west to the Sugovica, so the water is part of the view. Behind it, the older streets form a dense, slightly irregular network, loosening into long straight roads that head out across the flat Great Hungarian Plain.
A Baja map poster shows a town that faces its river rather than turning away from it. Baja is best known in Hungary for its fish soup, served with pasta. Every summer the town holds a fish soup festival, when cauldrons are set up across the main square and nearby streets.
The Danube side branch runs along the town's western edge, a smooth curving band of water that separates the streets from the island opposite.
A large island between the Sugovica and the main Danube, largely green and open, adding a big quiet shape next to the denser town.
Szentháromság tér opens toward the water on one side, a rare layout that shows clearly on the map as a wide gap meeting the riverbank.

Koteā ko Baja
Baja appeals to anyone with summers on Petőfi Island or a family connection to the southern Plain, and to those who simply like towns built around water. The river gives the poster a flowing, natural composition.
