Te mapa
Balayan is a coastal town in Batangas province on the island of Luzon, on the northern shore of the bay that takes its name. The old town centre sits near the water, with a church, plaza and closely spaced streets. Later growth has spread inland and along the coastal road.
Balayan Bay opens southwest toward the sea, and on a map it takes up a wide part of the frame. Behind the town, the land rises gradually into farmland and low hills, and rural roads branch toward barangays inland.
Balayan is one of the oldest towns in Batangas and is known for the Parada ng Lechon, held each June for the feast of Saint John the Baptist, when roast pigs are paraded through the streets. A Balayan map poster shows the town between its bay and the hills behind it.
The wide bay borders the town to the south, a smooth open area of water that balances the poster's detailed streets.
The historic centre gathers around the church and plaza near the shore, where the street pattern is oldest and tightest.
A main road follows the shoreline through town and on toward neighbouring municipalities, linking the settlement along the coast.

Koteā ko Balayan
The map is popular with people from Balayan who now live in Manila or overseas, and with visitors who have seen the June festival. It keeps the town and bay in one calm picture.
