Te mapa
Calamba lies on the southwestern shore of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the Philippines, south of Metro Manila. On a map the city runs from the flat lakeshore in the north toward rising ground in the south, where the forested slopes of Mount Makiling begin. Between them, the city spreads along highways and older town roads in a loose, extended pattern.
The city is known as the birthplace of José Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, whose family home in the old town centre has been reconstructed as a shrine. The streets around it form the historic core, a compact grid near the church and plaza. From there, roads branch outward to barangays, factories and newer housing subdivisions.
In recent decades Calamba has become an industrial hub, with large industrial parks along the South Luzon Expressway. Near Makiling, the Pansol area is known for its hot spring resorts. A Calamba map poster shows these layers together: the lakeshore, the old town, the expressway and the green slopes to the south, in a varied and balanced composition.
The northern edge of the city meets the broad lake, giving the map a strong natural boundary and a wide stretch of open water along the top.
The historic core around the church and plaza, where José Rizal was born, appears as a small, compact grid at the heart of the city.
To the south, the land climbs toward Mount Makiling, and the street pattern loosens as roads curve around hills and resort areas.

Koteā ko Calamba
Calamba is home to families who have lived near the lake for generations and to newcomers drawn by work in its industrial parks. A map of the city ties those stories together, from the Rizal shrine to the foot of the mountain.
