Te mapa
Ban Houakhoua lies in Bokeo, the small northwestern province of Laos whose western edge is formed by the Mekong. On a map the river is the dominant line, a broad band curving past the settlement. On the far bank is Thailand. Roads run parallel to the water and then climb inland, where the street pattern thins out into tracks following valleys between wooded ridges.
The layout reflects a place that grew along routes rather than to a plan. Houses gather close to the main road and the riverbank, and plots spread outward in irregular shapes. Past that edge the lines become sparse, with only streams and the occasional path. Printed in black and white, the contrast between the dense riverside strip and the empty hillsides is strong and easy to read.
A Ban Houakhoua map poster is mostly a portrait of the Mekong. It shows how a small community sits along one of Asia's great rivers at a frontier. Bokeo is part of the region usually called the Golden Triangle, where Laos, Thailand and Myanmar meet along the water, and the river has long been the main way of crossing between countries.
The river runs the length of the frame as a wide, smooth band. It separates Lao and Thai territory and gives the composition a strong natural spine.
A main road follows the river's curve, and most of the settlement's streets branch off it. This produces a linear, ribbon-like town shape.
Away from the water the street network fades quickly into valleys and forested slopes, leaving open space that suits the minimalist style.

Koteā ko Ban Houakhoua
This map suits people who have travelled the upper Mekong, crossed between Laos and Thailand, or have family ties to Bokeo. The river line alone makes it recognisable to anyone who knows the area, and it reads as a quiet, spacious print on a wall.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to mark a journey or a date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Digital HD files cost $9, and printed posters with an optional wooden frame are also offered.
