Te mapa
Bang Kho Laem is a district of Bangkok on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, south of the old city centre. The river makes a wide bend here, and the district follows it closely. On the map, the water forms a broad curving band, with a dense strip of riverside streets and sois on the land side.
Two major roads define its shape. Charoen Krung Road, one of the oldest roads in the city, runs parallel to the river, while Rama III Road sweeps along the inner side of the bend. Bridges, including Krung Thep Bridge and Rama III Bridge, cross the water to Thonburi, and the Asiatique riverfront complex occupies a stretch of the bank.
A Bang Kho Laem map poster captures Bangkok's relationship with its river. It shows long parallel roads, narrow sois running down to the water and bridges spanning the bend. The composition is strong and graphic, and it looks especially sharp in the Noir style.
The river curves widely along the district's western edge, forming a broad dark band that dominates the whole composition.
One of Bangkok's oldest roads runs through the district parallel to the river, with narrow sois branching off towards the water.
Krung Thep Bridge and Rama III Bridge cross the Chao Phraya to Thonburi, adding strong straight lines across the curve.
