Te mapa
Beberibe lies on the coast of Ceará, southeast of Fortaleza. The municipality has two different faces on a map. The town itself is inland, a compact grid of streets surrounded by farmland and coastal scrub. Beyond it, a long stretch of the Atlantic coast runs southeast, with beaches, dunes, lagoons and small fishing villages spread along the sand.
The coast is the main attraction. At Morro Branco and Praia das Fontes, sandstone cliffs cut by the wind reveal layers of red, ochre and white sand. The same sand is used in the region's traditional bottle art. Narrow paths wind through the eroded formations and bring visitors down to the beach. Jangadas, the traditional sail rafts of the Ceará coast, still work along parts of this shore.
A Beberibe map poster can frame either the town or the coast. Both work well in monochrome. The inland streets form a neat, dense pattern, while the shoreline is one long line bordered by dunes and scattered settlements. Together they show how the municipality connects the sertão with the sea.
The coloured sand cliffs and eroded paths near Morro Branco are the best-known feature of the coast and a regular stop for travellers from Fortaleza.
The coast runs for many kilometres. On the poster it becomes a single clean edge with small beach villages set along it.
The town centre sits back from the sea. Its compact grid of streets contrasts with the open, sandy land that reaches the coast.
