Te mapa
Begusarai lies on the flat Gangetic plain of Bihar, on the northern side of the Ganges. On the map the town is a loose, sprawling pattern of lanes and markets set among fields, ponds and villages, with a national highway and railway lines running through it and connecting it to the rest of north Bihar and to Patna across the river.
The area is one of Bihar's industrial centres. The Barauni refinery, built in the 1960s with Soviet assistance, and its associated plants form large, regular shapes near the river, and the Rajendra Setu at Simaria, one of the earliest road and rail bridges across the Ganges in Bihar, carries traffic over the water.
North of the town lies Kanwar Lake, also known as Kabar Tal, a large oxbow wetland and bird sanctuary that is recognised as a Ramsar site. A Begusarai map poster brings together these contrasts: dense town lanes, industrial geometry, the broad sweep of the Ganges and the soft, irregular edges of the wetland.
The long road and rail bridge at Simaria crosses the Ganges in a straight, even line, one of the most striking man-made features on the map.
The refinery and industrial complex near Barauni appear as large blocks of regular geometry, contrasting with the small-scale, irregular pattern of the surrounding villages.
The oxbow wetland north of the town spreads as an irregular expanse of water and marsh, a quiet, organic shape that draws migrating birds in winter.

Koteā ko Begusarai
Begusarai is home for many who have moved to Patna, Delhi or abroad, and a map is a simple way to keep it near. The river, bridge and wetland give a composition with more variety than people expect.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates of your choice, such as a family name, a village or a date, and choose one of five styles. Classic black and white suits the river, while Sand brings warmth to the plain.
