Te mapa
Behat lies in the Saharanpur district of western Uttar Pradesh, on the level land between the Ganges and Yamuna basins. From above, the town forms a dense cluster of narrow lanes packed tightly around its main road, with houses giving way quickly to a surrounding grid of fields, orchards and small village roads.
The setting is agricultural, and the map shows it plainly. Straight field boundaries and irrigation lines spread outward in every direction, while the built-up area stays compact. North of the town the land begins its slow rise toward the Shivalik range, and the road network follows that direction toward the shrine of Shakumbhari Devi in the hills beyond.
A Behat map poster works as a study in contrast: the fine, irregular texture of an old market settlement set against the long, regular strokes of cultivated plains. It is a modest place, and the drawing keeps that honesty, showing the town as a knot of streets in a wide working landscape.
The town grew along its principal road, and the densest lanes branch off it in short, irregular turns, giving the centre a closely packed, organic outline on the map.
Around the edges, rectangular farm plots and straight tracks spread outward, a geometric background that frames the town and shows how closely it is tied to agriculture.
Roads heading north lead toward the Shivalik foothills and the Shakumbhari Devi shrine, a route that gives the composition a clear sense of direction.
