Te mapa
Bellflower lies in southeast Los Angeles County, among the Gateway Cities between downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach. The land is almost perfectly flat, and the city's map shows it: long boulevards run north to south and east to west at regular intervals, dividing Bellflower into large blocks filled with smaller residential streets.
The San Gabriel River forms part of the eastern boundary, its concrete channel drawn as a straight, strong line along the edge of the city, with the 605 freeway running beside it and the 91 crossing the south. Inside the city, the former Pacific Electric right-of-way survives as a green trail cutting diagonally across the grid.
The city takes its name from the Bellflower apple, grown in orchards that once covered the area before postwar housing replaced them. A Bellflower map poster captures the calm, repeating rhythm of a mid-century suburb of wide lots and long blocks, with the river and the old rail line as the two elements that break its pattern.
Long straight arterials such as Bellflower Boulevard divide the city into regular blocks, creating a strong, even framework for the smaller residential streets.
The channelled river runs along the eastern edge of the city, a straight, bold line that gives the composition a clear boundary on one side.
The former Pacific Electric line crosses the grid at an angle, now a linear park and path that adds an unexpected diagonal stroke to the map.

Koteā ko Bellflower
Bellflower is a place many Southern Californians call home without much fanfare, which makes a map of it feel personal rather than touristic. It suits a family's first house, a childhood street or a gift for someone who has moved out of state.
Set the title and subtitle, add a date, and edit or keep the coordinates. Of the five styles, Classic black & white and Noir emphasise the grid's regularity, while Sand and Paper give it a warmer, sunlit tone that suits the region.
