Te mapa
Bhatkal lies on the coast of Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka, where the Western Ghats come close to the Arabian Sea. On the map, the older core gathers near the water, with lanes winding between houses and mosques, while newer roads spread inland along the national highway that follows the coast. A river estuary and a small harbour shape the western edge of town.
The town has been a port for centuries, with trading links across the Arabian Sea, and it is home to the Nawayath, a Muslim community with deep maritime roots. Its old quarters also hold Jain and Hindu temples, a reminder of the many rulers and traders who passed along this stretch of coast.
Seen from above, Bhatkal is a study in contrasts. Dense, irregular blocks sit near the shore, coconut and areca plantations leave green gaps between them, and the long line of the Konkan Railway runs past on the landward side. A Bhatkal map poster turns that coastal geometry into a quiet black-and-white composition.
Where the river meets the sea, the coastline breaks into sandbars, a fishing harbour and a shallow estuary, giving the poster a soft, irregular edge against the open water.
The historic centre is a tight knot of short, curving streets and small plots, a pattern that contrasts sharply with the straighter roads of newer neighbourhoods.
The coastal national highway and the Konkan Railway run roughly parallel to the shore, framing the town with two long lines that anchor the whole composition.

Families from Bhatkal live across the Gulf, in Bengaluru, Mumbai and beyond, and a map of home means more when you are far from it. The poster keeps the harbour, the lanes and the shoreline in view, a small piece of the coast on a wall anywhere.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a neighbourhood or a wedding date, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Get the digital files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
