Blue Springs is a city in Jackson County, Missouri, on the eastern side of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Interstate 70 crosses the town from east to west, and most of the commercial streets cluster near its interchanges. Around them, residential neighbourhoods fill the rolling land with a mix of curving streets and straighter older blocks.
The southwestern side of the map is different. Fleming Park, one of the largest parks in the county, holds Lake Jacomo and Blue Springs Lake. Their irregular shorelines, coves and arms reach into wooded land, and the surrounding parkland forms a wide green area next to the suburbs.
