Te mapa
Burirchar is in the Barisal Division of southern Bangladesh, in the low, river-crossed land of the Ganges–Brahmaputra delta close to the Bay of Bengal. In Bengali, a char is land formed by river sediment, and the name suits the map. The ground is flat, water is everywhere and the settlement follows the higher strips between channels.
From above, the pattern looks like thin lines over broad water. Roads often run along embankments, and homesteads cluster in small groups among paddy fields. Rivers and tidal channels cross the area in wide curves. They are the most prominent features, and they divide the land into irregular pieces.
A Burirchar map poster shows the delta as it is: a landscape where water and land are constantly being negotiated. The linework is spare and scattered, framed by the strong shapes of the rivers. For people from the southern coast of Bangladesh, it is a clear and personal image of home.
Wide rivers and tidal channels cross the map in sweeping curves. They are the dominant shapes and divide the land into separate strips and islands.
Roads often follow raised embankments above the fields. On the poster, they appear as long, thin lines that trace the higher ground.
Houses sit in small clusters among the paddy fields rather than forming a dense town. This gives the map a light, dotted texture.

Koteā ko Burirchar
For Bangladeshi families with roots in the southern delta, this map shows home in a way few images do: the rivers, the embankments and the villages between them. It is a meaningful gift for relatives who live far away.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, including in Bengali script. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as HD downloads for $9 or a printed matte poster.
