Bussolengo lies west of Verona, on higher ground above the left bank of the Adige. From above, the historic centre is a small, dense cluster of streets around its churches, while newer neighbourhoods and commercial areas spread out along the roads toward Verona and the lake. The river curves along the town's edge in a wide green valley below the terrace.
To the west, the land rises into the gentle moraine hills left by the glacier that shaped Lake Garda. Bussolengo is home to Parco Natura Viva, a large zoo and safari park that draws visitors from across northern Italy. Orchards, vineyards and farmland fill the gaps between the town and neighbouring villages.
