Te mapa
Cáceres lies in western Mato Grosso on the Paraguay River, not far from the border with Bolivia. It was founded in 1778 as Vila Maria do Paraguai, one of the Portuguese outposts that marked this western frontier. The historic centre sits right by the water. From there, a regular grid of streets spreads inland across flat ground.
The river defines the map. It sweeps past the town in wide bends and leaves oxbows and backwaters as it heads south into the Pantanal wetlands. Cáceres is a gateway to that region. It is also known for its international fishing festival on the Paraguay, which draws visitors every year.
A Cáceres map poster captures that meeting between orderly town and wild water. The straight streets end at a riverbank that never runs straight, and beyond it the floodplain breaks into curving channels. It is a composition with a clear sense of place. The frontier edge and the river give the town its shape, and the print keeps both.
The wide river curves along the town's edge in loose meanders. Its shape dominates the western side of the print and gives it a strong natural boundary.
The oldest streets gather close to the bank, where the colonial settlement began. They form a denser pocket before the grid opens out inland.
Downstream and across the river, oxbows and side channels spread into the wetlands. They add a soft, fluid texture next to the regular city blocks.

Koteā ko Cáceres
Cáceres appeals to people who know it as home, as a fishing destination or as the start of a Pantanal journey. You can add a title, a trip date or the coordinates to make the print a personal record.
The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint brings out the river's meanders like a survey chart. Paper gives the colonial grid a quieter, archival feel.
