Two contrasting shores
The open western coastline runs long and even, while the eastern side along the bay breaks into coves and shallow inlets. The contrast gives the peninsula its asymmetric, easily recognisable outline.

Te mapa
Calatagan sits on a narrow peninsula in the far southwest of Batangas province. On a map the land looks like a finger pointing south, with open sea along its western shore and sheltered bay water on the east. The town centre lies on that calmer inner coast. A few roads connect it to the villages spread along the peninsula, and between them the ground is mostly farmland and scrub.
Water shapes almost every part of the drawing. The western edge is long and fairly straight where it faces the South China Sea, while the eastern side curves around coves, tidal flats and mangrove fringes. In black and white the shoreline takes up most of the composition. The few streets feel light against it, and the town gets a clear silhouette that bigger, denser places rarely have.
Two facts are well known beyond the province. The Cape Santiago Lighthouse, built during the Spanish colonial period in the late nineteenth century, still stands near the southern end of the peninsula. Archaeological digs in Calatagan also turned up burial sites and the Calatagan Pot, an earthenware vessel with an early inscription. A Calatagan map poster sets that layered coast in plain lines and white space.
The open western coastline runs long and even, while the eastern side along the bay breaks into coves and shallow inlets. The contrast gives the peninsula its asymmetric, easily recognisable outline.
The land narrows as it runs south toward Cape Santiago, where a Spanish-era lighthouse marks the entrance to the waters around Batangas. On the poster the cape becomes a sharp final point.
The town proper sits on the sheltered inner coast. Its compact cluster of streets stands out as the densest patch of lines, while roads fan out from it to the villages further along the peninsula.

Koteā ko Calatagan
Calatagan tends to mean something to people who have spent weekends on its beaches, grown up in its barangays or sailed past its cape. A map poster keeps that coastline on the wall in a quiet form that fits a beach house or a city apartment equally well.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or the date of a trip, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order it as $9 HD digital files or as a printed poster, with an optional wooden frame.
