Te mapa
Camaguán lies in the south of Guárico State, deep in the llanos, the vast plains of central Venezuela. The town is laid out as a modest rectangular grid of blocks, typical of the region's planned settlements. From above, that orderly core stands out sharply against a landscape with almost no fixed lines. The grid ends abruptly where the open plain begins.
The Portuguesa River flows near the town, and much of the surrounding land floods in the rainy season before drying out again in the dry months. On a map, that shows up as looping channels, oxbow lakes and shallow lagoons. Their curves are the opposite of the town's straight streets. Roads are few and long, running across the flatland toward neighbouring towns.
A Camaguán map poster frames the contrast between human order and river freedom. The tight chequerboard of the town sits beside water that wanders wherever the land allows. Printed in monochrome, it looks like a study of two different ways of drawing lines across the same plain.
The centre of Camaguán is a regular pattern of square blocks. It is instantly readable on the poster and gives the composition a clear, grounded centre.
Nearby rivers loop across the plain, leaving curved channels and cut-off lagoons. These lines add movement to the map and show how water shapes the llanos.
Few roads cross the plains, and those that do run long and straight toward the horizon. On the map they look like thin threads linking the town to the wider region.
