Scattered villages
Many small settlements sit spread across the plain with open fields between them, so the print reads like a dotted pattern rather than one solid urban block.

Te mapa
Capannori does not look like a town from above. It looks like a constellation. The municipality spreads east of Lucca across a broad, flat plain, and its population is split among many separate villages, each with its own church, small cluster of houses and road leading out into the fields. The town hall sits in the settlement that gives the comune its name, but no single centre takes over the map.
To the north the plain gives way to wooded hills, where the lines on the map begin to twist and climb. To the south the land rises again towards the Monte Pisano. Between these two edges runs a net of straight farm roads and drainage ditches, crossed by the motorway heading east from Lucca towards Florence. The overall effect is a fine, even texture broken up by small dense knots.
A Capannori map poster shows a kind of Tuscany that most visitors pass straight through: working countryside with villas and gardens tucked among the fields. Marlia, one of the villages, is home to a well-known villa estate with formal gardens. Capannori is also known in Italy as one of the first municipalities to formally commit to a zero-waste strategy, which it did in 2007.
Many small settlements sit spread across the plain with open fields between them, so the print reads like a dotted pattern rather than one solid urban block.
Wooded slopes to the north and the Monte Pisano to the south frame the flat ground. Winding roads mark where the land starts to climb.
Straight rural roads and drainage lines cross the lowland in long parallels, giving the middle of the map a quiet, almost woven texture.

Koteā ko Capannori
The people who want this map are often the ones who know which village they mean when they say Capannori: family who grew up there, or visitors who stayed in a farmhouse outside Lucca. The subtitle can name that village, and the coordinates line can mark the exact spot.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed, and the print comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand suit the farmland in warmer tones. Noir makes the scattered villages stand out like small lights on a dark field.
