Chākuliā is a town in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, near the borders with West Bengal and Odisha. It lies on the main railway line between Kharagpur and Tatanagar, and the tracks run through the map as a firm straight line, with the town's streets gathered around the station.
The town is known for its Second World War airfield, built during the war and used by American forces, including B-29 bombers. Its long runways remain one of the most recognisable features seen from above, a striking geometric shape in an otherwise rural landscape.
