Te mapa
Charāmaddi lies in the Barisal Division of southern Bangladesh, in the low, water-rich country of the Ganges delta, not far from the city of Barishal. Land and water are closely interwoven here. Rivers and canals cut through the landscape in every direction, and homes spread along the banks and on slightly raised ground instead of gathering in compact blocks.
The map of a place like this is dominated by water. Wide rivers carry boat traffic, narrower khals branch off them, and village roads follow embankments between rice fields and homestead groves. The word char, common in local place names, refers to land built up from river sediment, a reminder of how the delta keeps reshaping itself.
A Charāmaddi map poster turns this landscape into a finely detailed composition. Waterways branch and loop across the sheet, village roads follow them, and homesteads appear as small clusters along the banks. It feels closer to a drawing of a living system than to a street plan, and it makes a quietly striking picture of home.
Broad rivers and a network of smaller canals divide the land, and they form the most prominent and intricate lines on the map.
Village roads run along raised banks between fields and water, tracing long, gently curving paths across the sheet.
Houses gather in small clusters along waterways and raised ground, giving the map a dotted, dispersed texture instead of a dense centre.
