Choisy-le-Roi lies in Val-de-Marne, on both banks of the Seine a short distance upstream from Paris. The town takes its name from the royal château built here in the eighteenth century and favoured by Louis XV. The château itself has largely disappeared, but its former grounds left a mark on the street plan.
From above, the Seine is the defining feature, running in a broad curve through the town and crossed by a bridge near the centre. The RER C line follows the river, and the streets on the west bank arrange themselves between the water, the railway and the approaches to the bridge.
Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle, who wrote La Marseillaise, spent his last years in Choisy-le-Roi and died there. A Choisy-le-Roi map poster shows a river town shaped by royal history, industry and the suburban railway, all held together by a single sweep of the Seine.
The river crosses the town in a wide curve, dividing it into two banks and giving the map its strongest shape, with the bridge forming the main link between them.
The RER C runs alongside the Seine through Choisy-le-Roi, a long straight line that separates the riverbank from the town centre and connects it quickly to central Paris.
The former royal estate influenced the orientation of several streets near the centre, and its outline can still be sensed in the layout even though the château itself is gone.

Koteā ko Choisy-le-Roi
Choisy-le-Roi is home to many who commute into Paris and value a quieter riverside town. A map poster turns everyday routes, along the Seine, across the bridge, to the station, into a clean piece of graphic design.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters on matte paper are available with an optional wooden frame, or download the $9 HD files.
