Te mapa
Chom Bueng is a district of Ratchaburi Province in western Thailand, between the flat plains of the Mae Klong basin and the hills that rise towards the border with Myanmar. The town at its centre is compact, with a small network of streets gathered around a main road, markets and public buildings. Beyond it the map opens into fields, plantations and villages connected by winding rural roads.
The district is known for its limestone landscape, with hills and caves that draw visitors, and for Muban Chom Bueng Rajabhat University, whose campus forms a clear block of buildings and grounds in the town. The university began as a teacher-training college and remains an important presence locally. Its lawns and paths add a different texture to the map, between the tight streets and the open countryside.
The variety of landforms is what makes this place interesting from above. A Chom Bueng map poster shows the town's street pattern clearly while leaving room for the surrounding countryside, so the transition from settlement to farmland becomes part of the design. It is a good way for graduates, former teachers and families from the area to keep a reminder of western Ratchaburi.
A small network of streets, markets and public buildings forms the core of the district, organised along the main road that runs through town.
The grounds of Muban Chom Bueng Rajabhat University form a distinct block of buildings, sports fields and paths within the town's otherwise modest street plan.
Limestone hills and caves rise in the district's western part, and rural roads wind around them towards the border region with Myanmar.
