Te mapa
Coon Rapids lies north of Minneapolis in Anoka County, Minnesota, with the Mississippi River forming its southern and western edge. From above, the city is a classic postwar suburb: curving streets and cul-de-sacs arranged into neighbourhoods, main arterial roads running between them, and generous green space along the river and creek corridors.
The Coon Rapids Dam spans the Mississippi here and is surrounded by a regional park with trails on both banks. Coon Creek winds through the city on its way to the river, and its green corridor breaks up the residential blocks. Highway 10 cuts across the northern part of town.
A Coon Rapids map poster shows the texture of a suburban landscape shaped by water. The broad river, the dam, the creek and the looping street patterns combine into a drawing that is softer and more organic than a grid city, with the Mississippi giving it a strong edge.
The river forms the city's boundary on one side, a wide continuous band that anchors the composition and separates Coon Rapids from its neighbours across the water.
The dam crosses the Mississippi within a regional park, with trails and green space on both banks visible as open areas along the river.
Residential streets curve and branch into cul-de-sacs, creating a dense, rounded pattern that fills much of the map between the main roads.
