Te mapa
Cran-Gevrier lies just west of central Annecy, on the Thiou, the short river that drains Lake Annecy. It was a separate commune until 2017, when it merged into the new commune of Annecy. On a map it still reads as a place of its own, a mix of older riverside quarters and later residential districts on the slopes.
The Thiou is the thread that holds it together. Mills and factories once stood along its banks, including a long-running paper mill, and the river's line still organises the streets nearby. Away from the water the layout becomes more suburban, with blocks of flats, schools and sports grounds set among curving roads.
The mountains around Annecy rise quickly beyond the edges of the map, so the built-up area feels contained. A Cran-Gevrier map poster shows that in-between position: close to the lake town and its old centre, but shaped by a working river and the neighbourhoods that grew up around it.
The short river from Lake Annecy runs through the district, a narrow line that organises the older streets and connects the lake with the Fier to the west.
Stretches along the water once held mills and factories, and their larger building footprints and open plots still break up the finer residential grain.
Residential streets climb and curve on rising ground away from the river, mixing apartment blocks with smaller houses and green spaces.

Koteā ko Cran-Gevrier
Cran-Gevrier is where many people actually live when they say they live in Annecy. A map of these streets feels personal in a way a view of the famous lake does not. It is the everyday route, the local school, the river on the walk home.
Set the title to Cran-Gevrier, Annecy or anything you prefer, add a date or coordinates, and pick one of five styles. The digital files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
