Te mapa
Creil sits on the Oise about fifty kilometres north of Paris. The river runs through the middle of town and divides around an island, Île Saint-Maurice. From above, this is the defining image: two channels of water, bridges stitching the banks together, and the town spreading up the valley sides toward plateaus of farmland and forest.
Creil became an industrial town in the nineteenth century. It is known for its fine earthenware, Creil faience, and later for metalworking along the river. It remains a major rail junction, and on the map the tracks fan out in long parallel bundles, cutting across the street grid with a sweep that no road here can match.
A Creil map poster shows a working river town without decoration. Neighbouring Nogent-sur-Oise and Montataire merge into it along the valley, so the built-up area reads as one continuous band following the water. To the south, the forests around Chantilly begin to darken the edges of the sheet.
The island divides the Oise into two arms in the heart of town. It is the most recognisable detail of Creil's map, framed by bridges on both sides.
Tracks converge on Creil station in wide, gently curving bundles. They add long graphic lines to the poster that run against the river's direction.
Creil, Nogent-sur-Oise and Montataire line up along the Oise to form one continuous urban strip. It reads clearly against the open plateau above.

Koteā ko Creil
Creil is a town of commuters, workers and families with roots in many countries. A map of it is a straightforward, honest piece of home: the river you crossed daily, the station you left from, the neighbourhood you grew up in.
Add a title, a subtitle and coordinates of your choice, and choose among five styles. Blueprint suits the industrial character especially well. The digital files are $9 with no watermark, and printed posters on matte paper can be ordered with a wooden frame.
