Te mapa
Daudnagar stands on the Son River in the Aurangabad district of Bihar, and the river's wide, braided channel forms the town's clearest edge. On a map the Son appears as a broad band of water and sandbanks. The town's streets gather on the higher ground beside it and run inland towards the roads that connect Daudnagar with the rest of the district.
The town takes its name from Daud Khan, a Mughal-era governor associated with its founding in the seventeenth century, and remains of that period are still part of the local landscape. Around the older centre, newer neighbourhoods and market streets have extended the town away from the river, across the flat and intensively farmed plain of south Bihar.
A Daudnagar map poster brings the river, the old town and the surrounding fields together in one calm composition. The width of the Son dominates one side of the print and makes clear how much the town's shape depends on it. The finer streets and lanes fill the rest with a dense, irregular pattern.
The broad river runs along the edge of the town with sandbanks and shifting channels. It is the largest and most striking feature on the print.
The oldest streets lie close to the river in a compact, irregular pattern that reflects the town's origins in the Mughal period.
Flat farmland extends inland from the town, divided into fields and crossed by roads and channels, giving the map a steady, even background.
