Te mapa
Dayrūţ lies in Asyut Governorate in Upper Egypt, on the west side of the Nile Valley. From above, the setting is typical of the valley and still striking: a green band of fields cut into narrow strips, the town packed densely between them, and the desert beginning abruptly beyond the cultivated edge. Canals and drains run in long parallel lines through the farmland.
The town is associated with an important point in Egypt's irrigation system. Bahr Yusuf, the historic waterway that carries Nile water toward the Faiyum, branches from the Ibrahimiya Canal near Dayrut, and regulating works here manage that flow. Water, in other words, is not just scenery here but the reason the landscape looks the way it does.
A Dayrūţ map poster makes that engineered landscape visible. The dense lanes of the town contrast with the straight channels and the field boundaries around it, while the rail line and main road run parallel to the valley. In black and white, the result is a graphic image of how life in Upper Egypt is organised around water.
Near the town, Bahr Yusuf leaves the Ibrahimiya Canal, and the meeting of these waterways gives the map a set of long, confident lines running through the valley.
The older parts of Dayrut are tightly built with narrow, irregular lanes, forming a solid dark mass on the map compared with the open fields around it.
Cultivated land stops sharply at the desert edge, so the map shows a clear boundary between the patterned valley floor and the empty ground to the west.

Koteā ko Dayrūţ
Dayrut is a place people leave for Cairo or abroad and still call home. A map of the town, with its canals and fields, is a personal reminder of family, childhood and the Nile landscape that shaped it, presented in a calm, modern way.
