Te mapa
Manfalūţ lies on the west bank of the Nile in Asyut Governorate, Upper Egypt. On a map, the river is the dominant feature: a wide, gently curving band on the eastern side. The town is compact and densely built. Beyond it there is a narrow strip of irrigated fields, and past that the desert begins, where the map empties almost completely.
The town is best known as the birthplace of Mustafa Lutfi al-Manfaluti, an influential Arabic writer and essayist of the early twentieth century, whose name comes from the town. Like many Upper Egyptian towns, Manfalūţ depends on the Nile and the farmland along it. Canals and field boundaries mark the land in fine lines.
A Manfalūţ map poster shows the basic geography of the Nile valley at a small scale. The river, the town, the green fields and the desert follow each other in clear bands. In black and white, those contrasts are sharp and striking, with a dense cluster of streets set between moving water and open sand.
The river runs along the eastern edge of the town, and its wide, smooth curve provides the strongest line in the composition.
Tightly packed streets and alleys make up the town, forming a compact dark area between the river and the fields.
A narrow band of irrigated farmland, crossed by canals, separates the town from the desert, where the map becomes almost empty.

Koteā ko Manfalūţ
Manfalūţ matters to families from Asyut and to readers of al-Manfaluti's essays and translations. The poster puts the Nile valley's simple, powerful geography on the wall, in the form of a single, recognisable town.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, including Arabic spelling or a meaningful date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the edge between the valley and the desert especially well.
